Interviewing for a job can be scary and make a person nervous, especially when the job is so competitive. You may be nervous, but there are several tips you can follow to create a more successful interview. Preparation is the key to a great interview. You will want to prepare answers to commonly asked questions, your outfit, and your confidence.

Research the company and the position you are applying for. In your interview, you may be asked questions such as what you expect from the company or what you hope to learn from the experience. You will want to be prepared for these answers. If you are nervous about other questions they may ask, you may want to research frequently asked interview questions and prepare several answers.

Dressing nice will leave an impression when you attend an interview. It is a good idea to avoid jeans. Try wearing a nice pair of pants and a dress shirt. For girls, even a businesslike skirt isn’t a bad idea. If you dress nice, the impression you leave will be better than if you don’t.

If you want to have a great interview, stay confident. The employer has already been impressed by your application and resume because you have the interview. This alone should boost your confidence. Avoid fidgeting and make sure you keep good eye contact with the person interviewing you. If you are nervous, try practicing answering questions with a friend beforehand and review your prepared answers so you are more confident in the interview.
