Surviving Unemployment

There are several tips on surviving unemployment. Eliminate credit card spending if at all possible.  If you see an outfit you would like to buy, or shoes, or a new motorcycle helmet and are tempted to use your credit card to buy it, don’t! You might get the instant satisfaction from a purchase but you will get the headache of getting a credit card bill when you’re tight on money. Try your hand at a new skill such as forex trading with UFX Markets Trading. This will not only earn you a new set of skills, but will put some money in your pocket until you land another job.

Save money on groceries by going once every two weeks. Limit purchasing soda pop, potato chips, donuts, and cookies. Plan your meals for the coming week and make a shopping list according to what you will serve. Shopping with a grocery list reduces impulse buying. Clip coupons out of the newspaper and use them. But use them wisely. If you don’t normally buy an item, don’t buy it just because you have a coupon. Instead of buying name brand food items, purchase store brands. Many times these are less expensive yet just as tasty.

Review your spending habits to see where you could cut down.  Reduce or eliminate eating out at expensive restaurants. Limit the amount of alcoholic beverages you buy. Rent DVDs from RedBox instead of going to a movie at an movie theater.  If you do go out to see a show, go to the dollar movie – and limit the snacks that you buy.

In addition to finding ways to reduce spending, be sure to take good physical care of yourself.  This will help you keep a positive attitude while you are struggling to find a new job.  Get plenty of rest. Eat well-balanced meals. Get regular exercise.
